^^^Wow Newark Liberty looks cool, this is my first time seeing the inside of it.
LaGuardia is probably the most "cold" in the area.
I think he/she was lol'ing at that Ice Cube & Chris Tucker pic.
Yea, I used JFK to get to SF in spring, and Newark looks like it's in better condition- And it's WAY easier to get around. (I sound bias, but I'm just being honest)
I picked up someone in LaGuardia.. Don't remember much about it, but it is smaller than JFK and NWK, so I don't know if it can compare.
He's probably Lol'ing "Newark International" because of the general location of the airport (in the middle of one of the nations most industrious areas)
Newark airport is better than any NYC airport.
So just to give it some of the justice it deserves...

BTW, San Fran had the best airport (from the one's I've been to)
I've been to LGA & JFK many times in the last decade, not my favs. After seeing those Newark photos I think I'll try that next time I go to NYC, it looked better than I thought. In my experience, not all New Yorkers care to rush around all day and act like they don't have time to care. Keeping with that logic, Grand Central Station is a waste since it looks very impressive for a train station. It should be more like Penn station, shoved underground beneath Madison Square Garden and ultilitarian. Let's also get rid of the shops and cafes in those stations as well, they are unecessary in a place as busy as Manhattan(which ironically enough is a very image conscious, fashion forward, aestically pleasing cityscape).
And yes, you do have mass transit 2 hours away from JFK. Anyone can take Amtrak into the city and then take the subway to JFK.
This pretty much proves that you are just taking potshots at non-NY airports, as there is no subway to JFK.
What you are proposing is Amtrak to Penn Station or Grand Central, then a long subway ride to either Howard Beach or Jamaica Station, THEN a transfer to the little used AirTrain. A long, convoluted and inconvenient ride that most are NOT willing to do.
I doubt seriously if you have ever done this yourself.
Most people would prefer to have an airport that has some of the most destinations/international flights over one that looks pretty. I can bet if you took a survey, most would say the first one.
Also, I don't know about the rest of the country, but in NY, locals usually talk about how airports are expanding and adding more terminals, gates, or airlines. Not about renovating the escalators/elevators or adding palm trees.
As someone who has flown a lot for the past 15+ years, all over the nation, I can say that destinations are not such a huge consideration amongst the majority of airports which are international and are hubs for major airlines. So, a "pretty" airport, one that's attractive, easy to maneuver, has nice facilities and amenities, good food and shopping, etc. is what most people would prefer to have since an "international" airport is not so rare.
You seem to think JFK is somehow special in that regard, but Newark serves a better number of destinations domestically and internationally; JFK is focused on international flights and more domestic flights are out of LaGuardia (which isn't such a great airport).
Newark, on the other hand, has some flights that JFK doesn't have - certain nonstops to Asia and Europe, for example. Also, Newark is the hub to the best airline in the USA - Continental Airlines. Because of that, we generally have the absolute best flights from the NYC metro DIRECT to any city in the nation or worldwide. If you fly Continental from JFK or LaGuardia you will typically connect in Cleveland or Houston. Now it's United, but it's still the same airline and United is going to be adopting Continental's ways (since Continental's CEO is the new CEO of United), so now we have an even better airline with hubs in the West, like Los Angeles.
JFK is not the best airport even in the NYC metro - Newark Liberty is better. But EWR, LGA, and JFK are all really the same, in a way - they are all Port Authority. But Newark Liberty is the best of the three, not to mention the history of Newark, being a base for Amelia Earhart and other famous aviators throughout history.
