I've been to Vancouver but looking at the winter Olympics, I see it has wonderful skiing options. And yeah, its downtown definitely is only behind NYC and Chicago in US. From air view it is so impressive in size.
I disagree with that. If you mean North America, SF, Boston, Toronto, and arguably Philly all have better downtowns than Vancouver.
For a metro of 2.5 million, though, Vancouver's downtown is unbelievable.
Yeah, I never understood why Canadian cities seem so much bigger than American cities. Metro Toronto has less people than places like Dallas, Houston, Miami, and Atlanta, yet it seems like a much, much larger city than any of them do. It seems more on the level of Chicago, who's actually twice the size of Toronto.
Toronto is actually bigger than all those US cities you've mentioned except for Chicago.

Most of the cities you listed (except Chicago) have relatively tiny downtown's in terms of population. In Toronto half the metro population lives in the city, as opposed to 90% of the population living in the burbs like Atlanta. Btw the metro's of Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, and Houston are around the same as Toronto, I don't see where you're getting these numbers from anyways.
The only areas Denver beats Vancouver is that Denver has a Major League Baseball team and an NBA team (though Vancouver used to obviously). Other than that I can't think of a single area in which Denver beats Vancouver.
Hottest Women - Vancouver
Ease of Meeting New People - Denver
Diversity in Cuisine - Vancouver
Biggest Downtown - Vancouver
Best Modern/Designer Architecture - Neither. I love both cities, but the architecture in both cities leave much to be desired.
Nicest Walks/Activities - Vancouver
Skiing - Denver
Countless magazines have named Whistler North America's, the Pacific Rim's, and even the WORLD'S best ski resort over the years. You can read some of the accolades here:

American and Canadian metros are not measured the same way, but even with the more restrictive Canadian definitions, Toronto's metro is still more populous than all of those cities save Chicago. If Toronto's metro were measured the way American metros are, it would have well in excess of 8 million people - not all that much smaller than Chicago. Remember that the population stats listed in the following linked article are from the 2006 census, and the region has likely grown by over 500,000 people since then. A new census is to be conducted this year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Horseshoe
Back to the topic, Vancouver packs much more of a punch than Denver in most every way pertaining to a true urban experience.
And Whistler kills Colorado in terms of apres-ski partying.[/quote]
That's a BIG FAT NO..spend a weekend in Aspen Colorado and make that claim.
