Barbecue in America - A Brief Discussion (http://ezinearticles.com/?Barbeque-America---A-Brief-Discussion-of-the-Four-Regional-Barbeque-Styles&id=4213182 - broken link)
None of the above. I've actually had the best I've ever had out here, the Nor Cal "tri tip"....it isn't well known. In fact I have never heard of it before I came out here, but its excellent!
Other than that I like the more Texas style...then the Memphis style.... I do not care for the Midwest flavor coming out of KC/St.Louis/Chicago, do not like the stuff in NC either.

Nice. I just looked it up. Hint of pepper & garlic, smoked on red oak.
Man, seriously, if you haven't tried North Carolina pulled pork with cole slaw on a hamburger bun with some hushpuppies and a sweet tea, your missing out.

not a fan of that, people around their must have a sweet tooth b/c they put too much brown sugar or molasses in the bbq, in the cole slaw (as opposed to german slaw or kimchee/sauerkraut which i actually like) and definitely in the tea. also in the hush puppies they will put sugar or sweet creamed corn as opposed to other corn fritters like in texas or bahamas...they put it in the corn bread too for a distinctively sweeter corn bread. i just hate that sugary overtone in the food, save it for desert. too much brown sugar even in the baked beans, the deserts in the region to me are overly sweet as well. stuff coming out of texas/ok/louisiana in the south do not generally have that.

In case people like visual descriptors as well -
Just add some buns & sweet tea.
