OmShahi--Even after Kobe and the rest are gone, the Lakers will still be the Lakers and draw in new top notch talent. The Lakers are a lot like the Yankees in that they will always be good, and when they have a down and out year, they will bounce back quickly. History shows that this likely won't change in the near future...it is highly unlikely.
That's true but someone could have said the same for the Bulls and Celtics (actually it is true for the Celtics).
I'll just wait it out and see where we go. So far this decade looks like it's starting off with a Lakers-Celtics rivalry.

I don't agree, IMO the same can't and never could be said for either the Bulls or the Celtics. The allure and money of teams that play in NYC and LA will always far exceed that of other cities. But I get what you mean.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I value your opinion. It really is fun to talk about the prospective teams for the up and coming decade.
By the way- I found this article to be quite entertaining:

Once Kobe retires (or is about to), the Lakers are going to acquire Kevin Durant (when he becomes free agent in three years). The cycle with the Lakers will just continue...unfortunately.
Wheewww, man that would be nuts. Also if Wade signs a new contract? It's a wrap.
That's the only way Miami would have a chance at the championship (if Wade signs a contract). With just LeBron, Miami is going nowhere (not a good supporting cast).

Lol I was getting greedy and thinking of if Wade AND Lebron signed Heat contracts.

Yeah sorry I meant Wade + Lebron.
Hell I'd even be happy with Lebron here in Orlando alongside Dwight. It would be free, and a great way to open a new arena.

That would be awesome, but I don't know how Orlando can pull that off. If LeBron wants to win, teams like Orlando, Houston, and Cleveland are places he should be looking at. Not the Knicks or Bulls.
