Yes I am talking about Portland, OR for those that would be wondering.
So the criteria would be;
- Life style
- Economy overall
- Education
- Metropolitan Area population
- City Area population
- Professional Sports
- City Scape (downtown, skyline, notable buildings)
- Public Transportation
- Major Interstates and other roads
- Airport
- Housing
- Food (Ethnic food, unique food of it's own, etc..)
- Proximity to other locations
- Economy growth and diversity (Post Recession climate)
- Art galleries
- Music scene
- Museums
- Parks
- Shopping
- Climate (which you prefer, and why?)
- Notable companies headquartered here
- Anything else you can possibly think up and want to add
You don't have to answer all the criteria, just the ones you actually know. Again keep it civil and make sure to give reasoning as to why you picked a certain location, don't just write the city name and leave it unexplained.

Lol, is it cool for the OP to self evaluate their own thread first? I'm going to do it anyways. Please note, I'm a bit biased here for Denver, it's one of my favorite cities.
- Life style: Portland
- Economy overall: Denver
- Education: I don't know, someone else can talk about this more.
- Metropolitan Area population: Denver
- City Area population: Denver
- Professional Sports: Denver
- City Scape (downtown, skyline, notable buildings): Denver
- Public Transportation: Portland (looks better and gets the job done) Denver has good public transportation too.
- Major Interstates and other roads: Toss up.
- Airport: Denver, no competition
- Housing: Portland
- Food (Ethnic food, unique food of it's own, etc..) Toss up. I'm sure you can find a bit of everything in both.
- Proximity to other locations: Oh goshhh, which one has better access to other cities? Denver is shorter fly time to other cities for sure.
- Economy growth and diversity (Post Recession climate) Denver
- Art galleries: Denver
- Music scene: Portland
- Museums: I don't know
- Parks: Toss up, I think both can do well here, but someone else can verify.
- Shopping: Denver
- Climate (which you prefer, and why?): Portland, but I prefer Denver's.
- Notable companies headquartered here: Denver's got better known
Been to both, Portland was fun as hell and lots to do.
Denver, I couldn't find much to do. Their downtown is dead compared to Portland's.
Got offered drugs numerous times in both places too, although in Portland they were selling weed and in Denver it was hash. Denver seemed a little sketchier.
The only thing I liked better about Denver was the weather.
- Life style - Portland
- Economy overall - Denver
- Education - Denver
- Metropolitan Area population - Denver
- City Area population - ???
- Professional Sports - Denver
- City Scape (downtown, skyline, notable buildings) - I don't care about skylines, so Portland wins in the downtown category.
- Public Transportation - Portland
- Major Interstates and other roads - Who cares
- Airport - Denver is better connected to Europe and the rest of the U.S., Portland's only advantage is having an Asian non-stop that Denver lacks.
- Housing - No idea
- Food (Ethnic food, unique food of it's own, etc..) - Portland
- Proximity to other locations - Portland
- Economy growth and diversity (Post Recession climate) - Denver
- Art galleries - No idea
- Music scene - Portland
- Museums - No idea
- Parks - Portland
- Shopping - I'd guess Denver but have no idea
- Climate (which you prefer, and why?) - Undecided
- Notable companies headquartered here - I dunno what's in Denver besides Qwest, but Portland is big in athletic apparel and high tech.
- Overall where would you live? - I feel like I would love both, but Portland seems overall more desirable.
- Life style Denver, I hate hipsters. - Metropolitan Area population Denver - City Area population Denver - Professional Sports Really pro sports in Portland? ... Denver - City Scape (downtown, skyline, notable buildings) Denver - Public Transportation Portland - Major Interstates and other roads Portland - Airport Denver - its an attraction in its own right and just two weeks ago was watching about it on Modern Superstructures - Housing Portland - Food (Ethnic food, unique food of it's own, etc..) Portland - Proximity to other locations Neither one is very close to anywhere. - Art galleries Denver - Music scene Denver - Museums Denver - Parks Portland - Shopping Could care less only shopping I do is food so I guess Portland might be better - Climate (which you prefer, and why?) Portland is one of the cleanest in the country. Denver has serious smog issues. Portland is also a lot greener, not a huge fan of the rocky mountain landscape. - Anything else you can possibly think up and want to add I wouldn't live in Portland because of the culture and I wouldn't live in Denver because of the air quality.
Winner I prefer the housing style and environment in Portland but prefer the culture, size, and people of Denver. I'd have to give it to Denver.
Portland has walkability, public transit, and distinct neighborhoods over Denver.
Denver is a bigger metro and offers more sports and cultural institutions. It is also more sprawly...
