Thats SanFran's CSA, and until we get trenton(SEPTA goes out there and its <20 miles from NE Philly), CSA's mean nothing

Tampa MSA: 2.7 million
San Diego MSA: 3.01 million
San Francisco MSA: 4.3 million
Philadelphia MSA: 5.8 million

So whats your point?

City proper:

Tampa: 340,000
San Francisco: 840,000
San Diego: 1,280,000
Philadelphia: 1,540,000

San Francisco is part of a CSA, which means that its MSA has combined with surrounding MSAs to create a larger entity.

2008 Population, US Census Bureau American Factfinder Community Survey
Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater, FL MSA 2,733,761
San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland, CA CSA 7,354,444

No you said "urban areas".

The San Francisco Bay Area - look it up - including SF, SJ and Oakland is 7.4 million people.

The Tampa Bay Area - look it up - including Tampa, Saint Petersburg and Sarasota is 3.8 million people. (I should clarify that a CSA doesn't exist for Tampa, so this combines the Tampa and Sarasota MSAs. I'm being generous.)

Don't bring Philly into this.

I should have clarified in my original post that I was comparing cities and metros. Look up Tampa's MSA numbers again because wiki says 4mil.

You don't have to lie to boost SF, its a nice place.

And SD along with Detroit and El Paso are nearly the only ones in USA to have a metropolitan area shared with a city of a foreign country.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Die...ropolitan_Area

Read about it.

What? I gave you the link to Tampa's MSA population a few posts back. But here, have it again.

Tampa Bay Area - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Enjoy reading, remember to wear your reading glasses for it, I know, it's MSA in comparison can seem a bit small compared to Bay Area, but just a little bit.
