I think Charlotte would be the largest city in that region. Since Technically New Orleans and Atlanta are not geographically in it, Memphis appears to be in it as well.

The Black belt is a region pf the U.s normally describing a large percentage of Black people. Source wikipedia.org

NO it means those are the places where the most people have a black belt in karate.

According to that map, Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) is not in this region and that makes sense, as it is in the heart of the Southern Piedmont region. The Black Belt does, however, include Columbia, SC and Augusta, GA.
