Default Hospice Volunteers Needed In Ripley, TN

Hospice is a special way of caring for the terminally ill, and their families. It is a palliative approach, rather than curative. We use a full team of diverse individuals to help these families, and volunteers are a vital part of our team. The office that covers Ripley is actually in Somerville, and I'm having a very hard time building connections in Ripley, and finding volunteers for a large number of patients in that area. Patient volunteers must be 16 years old and have a valid drivers liscense. I will come up to Ripley for your interview, orientation, etc. And your time sheets can be faxed or mailed to me, so you don't ever have to make the drive to our office.

You can hold a hand, comfort a patient, listen to their thoughts, give respite to a caregiver, run errands, do home or yard work, etc. It's our volunteers that allow us to expand our services to make them top notch.

Please visit the Caris website at www.carishealthcare.com, and submit a volunteer application. That will be forwarded to me, and I will be able to be in touch with you shortly.

I hope this request is not a violation of TOS, and if it is, I understand it's removable. I've just run across this resource, and thought it might be a way to reach a new audience.

Spencer is over four hours away from Ripley I'm afraid. I am glad that you had a positive experience with hospice. Perhaps you could share a little bit about it, to help others understand what it means to families. I'm sure you'll be able to find a hospice to volunteer for when you move.

Default Tricia; Volunteers looking to help!

Hello Tricia,

My name is Ali Fadlallah and I am a junior at the University of Minnesota. I am active in a non-profit organization called Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF). Our mission is to reveal leadership through service, relationships, and action.

Our main program is called the Pay it Forward Tour; a service trip in which students travel by charter bus to different communities and do service projects along the way. ON February 14, 2008, two buses will be departing the Metro-Detroit area and head toward Memphis, TN. One of our buses will be stopping in Ripley, TN.

Our buses usually include about 40 people. We would LOVE to help out. Our organization is committed to community service; it is the sole reason we exist! If this is something you are interested in, please contact me via email at Fadla002@umn.edu. We would be willing to split our high school students up and do various tasks.

I would like to assure you that our students are committed to their volunteer work. We often visit nursing homes and homeless shelters where our participants have great interaction with residents. I can say with pride that we have only had positive experiences, every time. I look forward to hearing from you.

My Best,

Ali
