You can find those things in Cleveland heights.
The schools rankings aren't the best, but if your kids do their work and stay focused they should get a phenomenal education, I know I did.
The whole area has a community feel. Stay away from the area around Noble road. Its not dangerous by any means, but its rough around the edges. The places you will get the most community/semi-urban feel are around Cedar- Fairmount, Coventry, Cedar-Lee, and the areas along Lee, Cedar, Taylor, Monticello and Mayfield Roads.
For organic foods there is a Whole Foods in neighboring University Heights but is only a 5-10 minute drive from southern Cleveland Heights, and there is excellent bus service if you need it.
Being on the East side you are close to University circle, which is home to one of the best Orchastras in the world, One of the best Art museums in the world and one of the best hospitals in the world, University circle is one of America's 5 richest concentrations of cultural amenities.
The area is relatively also close in proximity to Downtown, so you can go there for pro sports or entertainment or work.
You are about a 20 minute drive to Beachwood Mall and Legacy village, which is like Plaza Frontenac in St Louis. Upscale shopping.
You can also drive to one of the rail stations, park your car and take the train to downtown or the airport or wherever.
Hope this helps!
Also check out Urbanohio.com there are lots of members and there that can help you out as well.
