Alan Ruck was from Parma. You know, Cameron from Ferris Bueller and Stuart from Spin City.

LOL, you're going to list Charlie Frye (who is from Willard two hours from Cleveland) but fail to mention an athletic list that is too long to name.

An obvious omission is Jesse Owens, who is arguably the greatest athlete of the 20th century (ESPN rated him No. 6).

The list of great athletes from Cleveland (no Charlie Frye doesn't count) is too great to name. If you are stretching it to as far a way as Willard, Charlie Frye isn't in the top 500. Maybe not the top 1,000.

If you are going to list a Browns QB that isn't from Cleveland, but is from Northeast Ohio, why not Bernie Kosar?

Here's a list of some athletes you missed from Cleveland (northern Ohio since some of the people already listed aren't from Cleveland)

Track and field
1. Jesse Owens (Cleveland)
2. Harrison Dillard (Cleveland, four time Olympic gold medalist)

Baseball
1. Cy Young (Newcomerstown, THE pitching award was named after him)
2. Phil and Joe Neikro (Bridgeport, Phil is in the HOF)
3. Thurman Munson (Canton, 7-time all-star, borderline HOFer)
4. Tommy Henrich (Massillon, 5-time all-star, borderline HOFer)
5. Rollie Fingers (Steubenville, HOFer)

Basketball
1. Clark Kellogg (Cleveland, All-American, NBA 1st round pick, CBS analyst)
2. Nate Thurmond (Akron, NBA HOFer)
3. Gus Johnson (Akron, 5-time NBA all-star)
4. Charles Oakley (Cleveland, NBA all-star)
5. LeBron (as much as people here don't want to hear it, will go down as one of the top 5 ever in the NBA)

Football (where to start?)
1. Paul Brown (Massillon, the father of modern football, HOFer)
2. Vic Janowicz (Elyria, Heisman Trophy)
3. Desmond Howard (Cleveland, Heisman Trophy)
4. Troy Smith (Cleveland, Heisman Trophy)
5. Paul Warfield (Warren, HOFer)
6. Marion Motley (Canton, HOFer)
7. Larry Csonka (Stow, HOFer)
8. Len Dawson (Alliance, HOFer)
9. Dan Dierdorf (Canton, HOFer)
10. Benny Friedman (Cleveland, HOFer)
11. Lou Groza (Martin's Ferry, HOFer)
12. Jack Lambert (Kent, HOFer)
13. Dante Lavelli (Hudson, HOFer)
14. Chuck Knoll (Cleveland, HOFer)
15. Allan Page (Canton, HOFer)
16. Fritz Pollard (Akron, HOFer ... first black in the NFL)
17. Don Shula (Grand River, HOFer)
18. Charles Woodson (Fremont, Heisman Trophy, will be a HOFer)
19. Tom Jackson (Cleveland, 3-time Pro Bowl, ESPN analyst)
20. Robert Smith (Euclid, Vikings all-time leading rusher ... for one more year, ESPN analyst)
21. Bo Schembechler (Barberton, HOF college coach)
22. Don James (Massillon, national champ college coach)
23. Lou Holtz (East Liverpool, HOF college coach)
24. Les Horvath (Cleveland, Heisman Trophy)
25. Antoine Winfield (Akron, 2-time Pro Bowl)
26. LeCharles Bentley (Cleveland, 2-time Pro Bowl)

I can go on and on...
