Doesn't the induction being held in NY kind of defeat the purpose? I quess its' good for a local and tourist attraction.

No. They're held in Cleveland every 3rd year.

And, before you start on your latest Cleveland bashing tirade, save it.

Why is it every 3rd year and not every year?? Calm yourself down, I don't do tirades and asking a question isn't bashing so stop bossing and accusing!! It won't work with me. If you can't be civil, don't answer!!!

Good question. I wish it were here every year, too, but I suppose having it NYC helps generate more revenue and publicity, which doesn't hurt.

That's a good point. You're probably right.

$$$ holding it in NYC generates a ton of profit suppposedly for the Rock hall foundation.

Every third year in Cleveland is still a good start. Personally, what I don't understand is how there is not a week long Cleveland Rock Festival the week prior ... Or even after the inductions in Cleveland. If done right, it could be a source of pride and revenue.

I'm seriously considering finding the right people to try to head up this thing, including myself.

I thought I heard, many years ago, that the induction ceremonies were held in NYC as sort of consolation for not getting the museum itself. But, after doing a quick search, I can't find any evidence to back this up.
