The taxes in the Heights are astronomical -- $3500-4500 a year for a foreclosure you purchase for $60K? In Cleveland proper taxes seem to be 1000-1500 for $100K+ home.

The problem is I like the architecture of the house in the Heights as opposed to much of what I seen in Cleveland.

Right now my list is Edgewater, Ohio City and Tremont. Best value for the best place?

West Park! We just bought a darling 1930s Tudor for under 180k. VERY original, very nicely kept. Maybe expand your search to that area? Our taxes are like $2,100/year.

Default More Neighborhood Options

In the Old Brooklyn City Neighborhood there is an area called
South Hills ,Many of these homes were built 1925's to the 30's.
This area is Broadview Road and Shaff Road.
There are also subdivision called Skyview Estates built in the late 1980's
a truly suburban type . This Neighborhood also has FREE Wi-Fi though
out the neighborhood.

The problem is I like the architecture of the house in the Heights as opposed to much of what I seen in Cleveland.
