Guys,

This is huge news. $1 million has already been donated to open the center Downtown, which is incredible...especially in regards to unilateral community support. I'm thinking the latest census numbers stirred the pot enough to make many Cleveland organizations and people ready for action. A goal of popualtion gain by the next census should be nothing less.

Besides welcoming immigrants, it will promote "Global Cleveland," a business initiative seeking the best foreign talent and businesses.

I'm personally considering volunteering at the center 1 day a week if this is possible--it will open in May!

Again...

Default So exciting!

This is fantastic news for the City of Cleveland and inner ring suburbs. I look forward to seeing how it unfolds. It feels like Cleveland is on the move these days.

Hopefully this will attract immigrants from places other than Mexico, nothing against Mexicans, good people, but it would be nice to get some ethnic diversity back in Cleveland.

Hooray! It's time for Cleveland to stop being "a best kept secret" - when people come here from other parts of the country or the world, they are blown away by what we have - from world class cultural institutions like the Cleveland Orchestra and Art Museum, to leading-edge health care, a great climate for entrepreneurial innovation, and beautiful, affordable homes. It's time to shine the light on what we have to offer. Very exciting!

Meh, more Mexicans coming is fine with me as long as they aren't illegals or poor.

Ireally want to see the city ***** itself out to wealthy foreigners for more investment money. Doing that with the FEB project was fantastic.

Cleveland has a steady growth or Eastern Europeans and Middle Easterner's so this is a right step to welcoming them in the region and should promote further growth.

Would be better if they put the effort and money towards keeping the local unemployed (especially college grads like myself) in the city.

How though.

But it's also proven that many immigrants are entreprenuers, thus creating jobs.

The same ways that they'll be using to connect with foreigners, can be turned around and used on a local scale to keep educated NE Ohioans here, or even try and attract other Americans to jobs here. It makes no sense to not tap into the millions of educated unemployed here in the states.
