I am relocating from out of state and I am in the process of trying to decide between Avon, Avon Lake and Westlake. Each town sounds like they have great public school systems but I can not find too much info on the Catholic elementary schools. Any insight that you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

There are 2 Catholic schools in Avon, St. Mary's and Trinity.

There is 1 Catholic school in Avon Lake, St. Joseph.

I'm not sure what is in Westlake but I'm sure there is at least one Catholic school in Westlake.

If you decide on either Avon or Avon Lake, I recommend St. Joseph as it is the largest and I believe they have bus service across city lines. We live in Avon and our daughter attends PSR there.

My sister and her husband relocated to Avon Lake from Perrysburg (Toledo area) over two years ago with their two young sons that are in 1st Grade and Kindergarten and chose Avon Lake primarily for the school district (as well as the close proximity to Lake Erie). My nephews are doing well attending Avon Lake schools and no regrets so far after two years.

A freind of mine built a house in Avon six years ago and his young son attends public schools there. You cannot go wrong with either Avon or Avon Lake schools, both are rated Excellent with Distinction.

St. Bernadette is the only Catholic school in Westlake that I'm aware of. It's K-8. There are also good k-8 catholic schools in Bay (St. Raphael) and Rocky River (St. Christopher) that are a short drive from Westlake. Also, there's an all Girls Catholic High School (Magnificat) in Rocky River.
