We are getting ready to move into our new house and need to pick a cable/internet/phone provider. Need something with DVR, multiple receivers for multiple TVs, tons of channels, and PRICE is a factor.

We presently have Uverse but it is costing us a fortune! Any suggestions? Who do you guys use and why?

I wish I could get uVerse.
How much is it costing you?
I have Time Warner and it is expensive, too.
ATT has a deal for cheapDSL so you might want to try DirectTV for TV and ATT for Internet.

I just set up my electricity and they offered tv (100 channels and hd) and internet (7 Mbps down) for $107 (excluding fees and taxes) through time warner Is that normal? I'll give time warner a call and see if i can get a cheaper deal. Sucks that my building (crittenden court) only offers time warner.

anyone have any experience dealing with these so called "authorized dealers?"
buytimewarnercable.com has a deal for $85 with the same features as the above offer.

WE have Cox Cable- its a bit pricey but the service is EXCELLENT. For example if your tv has problems at 8PM they will be there at 8:20.

Just go through TimeWarner directly. You won't save one cent going through these other companies.

Yep, most of the "authorized dealers" are using the ol' bait and switch in some form or another. Many times, they conveniently forget to add in the taxes and equipment charges. It's technically correct, but it's tantamount to selling a computer without a hard drive.

I have Cox Communications. I have the full package: Tier 3 digital cable, HD, 4 converters (1 with DVR), high speed internet (up to 15 mbps -- usually clocks around 13), and the phone package with unlimited national long distance. It runs $175/month and the service has been about flawless for 6 years. You can find cheaper options but, cost-to-product, it can't be beat. Personally, I'm sick of waiting for U-verse and can't imagine that it's a whole lot better than what I already have.

UVerse rocks my face off, but it is costing me a FORTUNE. We have all of the movie channels, the package with all the channels available, plus a sports package so we can watch the Cards play (sometimes) in addition to phone and internet. Costs us about $230 once the promotion package wore off. Going to call and tell them we're done when we move unless they give us the promo back. Not worth it, though it *is* really cool.
