Not to mention the quality of the sand there is not great. It could be because it was so wet but much of it looked like a clay tennis court.
They need to get a crew out there to clean it up a bit which I am assuming will happen soon.
Huntington is overall cleaner and has much better sand.
This could be just because it was so early in the season though.

My kid liked it though.
I agree with previous poster, cute looking kid but that beach in photo looks gross as h*ll

I've been wondering the same thing since I moved to Cleveland Heights. Where is the closest beach? Last year, I went out to Headlands, but it's really far away. I'll have to try Edgewater this year and see what it's like.

Thanks for all the info, everyone!

There is also Euclid Beach, but that's not very clean either from what I hear (and from the bacteria count reports).

Hands down Headlands is best. Walking around there you can allllllllllmost feel like you're at the ocean, and I'm not exaggerating.

Default Huntington has won

a national reward today for being the cleanest beach in the area,
and overall being well maintained .
If you have not been it is worth the drive , on a hot summer day,
plan to stay the day , it has a good snack bar also

Do not forget Huntington Beach in Bay Village , truely a well kept park
maintained by our great Cleveland Metro Parks System .

Huntington is a beautiful beach. Considering that there are only a little more than a hundred beaches in the whole country that have been awarded that honor it's impressive. Huntington>Edgewater. If you feel like traveling the extra 15 min further from Edgewater it is well worth it.
