What is life in Euclid like?
Just landed a job in cleveland i was told euclid and lyndhurst are nice towns to live in.
Is there anything I should know about these communities?
Which is better?

Euclid seems ok, not great, just ok, but I must confess I don't know much about it.
The reason I post is I think you might be confusing it with South Euclid, which is next to Lyndhurst. South Euclid and Lyndhurst share a school district.

South Euclid is nicer than Euclid. Euclid is declining over time. Typical inner ring suburb-itis.

Euclid isn't a terrible place to live but as ottomobeale siad it is declining,I should know, its my hometown.I still love it through, and don't think it is a terrible place, its just not as good as it was in the 60s and 70s,but I think you would still be able to do pretty good in Euclid. But yeah, are you sure you don't mean South Euclid?

Euclid isnt bad but its not the nicest place. I would consider Euclid more urban and like a city then most the other suburbs around Cleveland. I think the Eastside and Northside of Euclid are the nicest areas in the city but i dont know a whole lot about Euclid. The Westside of Euclid is too close to East Cleveland for most people. The Western Edges of Euclid, Clev Heights and other cities are going downhill because of their proximity to East Cleveland.

The area of Euclid Im from,The westside,is right by East Cleveland.Like you siad Cle440 it is starting to go downhill, but its not terrible like some of the neighborhoods in Cleveland.I still like it there, but like I siad its not as good as it was in the '60s and '70s when my mom was growing up there. There is crime, and theres starting to be drug dealers at night in my old neighborhood around E. 185th.I agree with Cle440,The eastern part is the best, closer to Willowick, around Lloyd Road.I'd say anywhere past downtown is fine.Yeah and again like Cle440 siad,Euclid is pretty urban, its not like suburbs that are starting to boom now.The architecture, escpecially on the westside is very similar to Cleveland.Euclids schools aren't very good,so if you have kids and you can afford it,you'd probably want to send them to private schools. For shopping in Euclid theres downtown,Euclid Avenue, some small stores on these streets E. 185th,E. 200th,E 222d,or you can go to other surrounding suburbs of Cleveland.

The bad areas around Cleveland have spread like most major cities in the US. The bad neighborhoods started on the Eastside of Cleveland from E55th to E105th St., then over the years they spread to most the Eastside of Cleveland into East Cleveland and now they are spreading into the western edges of Euclid Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights. The biggest reason why the bad neighborhoods spread is because of black people wanting a better life and moving out of the inner city. When some white people see black people moving into there neighborhoods they move out which is the dumbest thing to do because then the houses all empty out the land values go down the poverty rate increases. Most areas out of Cleveland proper are okay to move to except East Cleveland. Euclid is okay most places except the westside has a higher crime rate.

Im from the Westside, and again while its not terrible, there is definetly more crime in the area.Actually through.I didn't live very far from some pretty bad areas.I lived like .70 miles from neighborhoods that are not so good at all.I don't live in Euclid right now,but I get back there 3-4 times a year.

Lyndhurst is much better, higher taxes. Try Mayfield Hts.
Euclid is slowly declining. If you are looking for somewhere safe you are better off in Lyndhurst, Mayfield or even Willowick, Wickliffe, or Willoughby
