Default Moving into Cleveland

Hey everybody i live in Lorain County and im thinking of moving into Cleveland or within 10 minutes of the city. I already know a lot about Cleveland because Ive lived around here for most my life but i just need some suggestions. Im looking for a diverse urban neighborhood thats not all white or all black but a mix of a lot of races. The neighborhood doesnt have to be completely crime free but i dont want to move into any ghetto areas. I might be moving into an apartment so i need a neighborhood that has a lot of apartments. I also want to be within 10-15 minutes driving distance into downtown. Im thinking maybe Ohio City, Tremont, Little Italy, Old Brooklyn, or maybe Lakewood. Any thoughts?

Not sure about east side, but Lakewood or Old Brooklyn sound right up your alley.

I'm not sure if you are interested in the east side. But Shaker Square is pretty diverse. It is also right by the train station which is probably about a 10-15min ride into downtown. Not sure what you like to do recreation wise, but there are restaurants, a movie theater, as well as art gallleries in the area. Cleveland Heights is another good choice as well, but some parts have a high Jew population if that matters to you.

I been living by Cleveland most of my life but now im gonna try to give the city a chance. To start with im just going to rent a house or apartment and keep my house in Lorain County for when i move out. I like the city of Cleveland a lot and think its a very underrated city for many reasons especially because of the low housing costs. Im not sure how long im going to live in the city for.

Lived in Cleveland the city for 15 years.
Schools are bad.
Police are lazy
Services bad.

I will say the garbage men made an effort as did firemen and Martin Sweeney my councilman at the time.

Try the Suburban East Side though. Some of the XYZ Heights cities may well be exactly what you seek in terms of diversity... Watch your property taxes though.

You can basically live anywhere in Cuyahoga county and still be very close to the city.Im from Cleveland,Im not currently there, but always take trips to Cleveland. From Lorain to downtown its only about 20 maybe 25 minutes. If you want to live closer to the city I'd suggest Lakewood.
