Default 91 Homocides

There has been 91 homicides in Cleveland as of 9/3/2007 and there is still 4 months left to go in 2007. If this rate keeps up there will be near 140 homicides in Cleveland in 2007. That is the most Homicides Cleveland has had in about 20 years. The murder that happened today left a innocent 12 year old girl dead in crossfire between two guys shooting at eachother, and one of the guys is in bad condition at a hospital. If Cleveland reaches 135 homicides or more it will be one of the 5 most dangerous cities in America (it was 7th in 2006). Cincinnati also isnt doing too well this year.

Angry This is so sad...

Poor little "Cookie", she didn't even have a chance. The guy who is still on the run called 19 Action News and claimed that he was being robbed by the other guy involved in the shooting. He claimed that others in the neighborhood witnessed the robbery and did nothing. He said he knows members of the girls family and started crying saying he didn't think a little girl dying whould be the outcome of the situation. Did he not realize that if he is running around shooting at somebody, that an innocent bystander could get hit as well? If he is truly hearbroken by the situation like he claims he is, he needs to turn himself in immediately and face this situation like a man.

Yes, it is a very sad situation. This kind of thing has happened many times this year in Cleveland. I remember a little while ago two kids under 10 years old were shot on the North east side of the city. And Cleveland has had many cops get killed over the past couple years. Without the crime and poverty Cleveland would be a great place to live though.

Yeah, there are a lot of cops loosing their lives these days. I remember when a cop got killed in Cleveland Heights trying to break up a fight. I wasn't to far away from the street it happened on that day, that's scary.

For a city of Cleveland's size,if they have more than 130 homicides that will be very very bad.I mean its always bad when someone gets killed, but when 130 or more people get killed in a city of 440,000,thats really bad.I still have hope that Cleveland will turn around though.
