Try as I might to avoid the reality of it, I will be turning thirty very, very soon, and I would like to have a lovely meal in Cleveland for occasion. While I apologize if this thread is a repeat, I would like to call on all Clevelanders to suggest good restaurants for me to check out for this occasion, and otherwise. In particular, I like BAR FOOD. Good bar food. I love the GLBC, Melt, Quaker Steak and Lube, and I also love pizza. I am not below going to a fancier place, either, (I like Nighttown) but in general, I like places with good beer, greasy, but good food, a neighborhood atmosphere, and maybe music. Additionally, if time and motivation permits, maybe some of the good neighborhood bars, as well. Thanks in advance for your help!

Oh no!!! Not THIRTY!!! What a nightmare!!!

Good bar food? I'd check out the Tremont Tap house. The food is exceptional as is the selection of beers. Then you have all of Tremont that you can carouse afterwards.

You're turning the big 3 - 0 and you want:

BAR FOOD?!?!?!?!

Seriously????

Why don't you go to Brasa and have a SERIOUSLY good meal like you have never had before?

I've tried better restaurants, but what it boils down to is; I'm a simple guy with simple tastes.

With all due respect, the Tremont Tap House has some pretty high quality bar food! But, yeah, I'd prefer to see you go to L'Albatros, Michelangelo's, or something along those lines.

Flour, which just opened on Chagrin and SOM has gotten great revues. My boy is the head chef there. I'm going to try it out next week.

I grew up Kuhar's take out which now has a store in Richmond Hts. and Mentor. The original in Euclid on 222nd is now called Kulinars, but the menu is basically the same.

I got a good panini at Luna Bakery on at Cedar/Fairmount in Cle. Hts.

If your in Mayfield Hts. and just want a quick sandwich for lunch, Ferrara's meatloaf sandwich is delicious...there italian subs are great too (along with grinders from Alescis) but the meatloaf with the cooked onions and peppers....love it.

My favorite pie in the city is Valentinos pizza...just a plain cheese pizza..its perfect, NY style but its own style really. Cooked perfectly, freshest pizza in the the neighborhood. MING

Harry Buffalo has some very good bar food (IMO). And that would set you up nicely for a night out on E. 4th if you choose.
