True enough and they did it living in separate neighborhoods, attending separate schools, paying lower taxes, receiving far less handouts, depending on a private bus system and a police and city government that was overwhelmingly dominated by White people, who enjoyed Federal economic policies that weren't traitorous to the working men of Cleveland and their dependent wives and children.

And so I ask again - what do the wealthy have to do with it?

What?...All I was doing was correcting people. People keep calling it the "white flight" but what most people dont realize is wrong with that is a lot of African Americans moved out of the cities at those times too. Nobody wants to live in a neighborhood thats severely decayed and has a very high crime rate.
What happened to Cleveland and a lot of other cities like it is that everybody with money started to move out which is part of the reason Cleveland is in such bad shape right now, I called it the "rich flight" but it was really "anybody with money flight". Not just because "whites moved out". There are plenty of African Americans who live in the suburbs or in the city and dont commit crimes or add to the decay of the neighborhood.

That's a nice twist on it, but I don't think it is the reality.

More Places to Swim
I am new to Ohio. I love to swim. Are there better lakes than other
to swim in? Are there public pools here?

Low Skilled Jobs That Pay A Lot of Money
Cleveland needs more good jobs. Our elites tell us they are never coming back. Bologna! A 25% tariff on all foreign goods should bring back manufacturing to Cleveland in a big way. Although, it would probably take around ten years to get there. Still, once you are there, keep the tariff up and it is "permanent."

We have a lot of beaches on the lake. When I go there if I want a clean nicer place to swim I go to one of the suburban beaches. Edgewater in Cleveland is pretty filthy and Lakeview in Lorain is just as bad. The deeper you are in the suburbs on the lake the nicer the beaches will be. Also, most cities and suburbs have some place to swim. They open a lot of the outdoor public swimming pools in May and they have indoor ones that stay open for most of the year. Some places still have YMCA's and places like that to swim too.
