Help.
My husband may take a position that is on the upper east side of Cleveland, near the lake. I need to be near an international airport. No kids, so no school issues. We have no idea of the characteristics of the areas. We want to have a college community feel to the town and be in between the airport and the upper east side. This would be fast winter relo. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Cleveland airport is an international airport. It's on the west side. The closest you'll get to a college town feel on the upper east side is the Cleveland Heights area. You may have touble finding everything on your list if you restrict to upper east side. Maybe someone else can think of something I'm missing though?

Cleveland Heights is a good area to stay in and get the college town feel. It is also near the Windemere Rapid Station, and that train will take you all the way to the airport. Cleveland Heights or maybe even University Heights(John Carroll University is located here) would be your best bet if you want to stay on the upper east side.

We may be moving to the Cleveland area from out of the country. Husband's worksite would be in Euclid. I need to be near an airport. No children and do not worry about schools. What place is artsy, quick hop to airport and my husband can get to work readily? Ideas? Thanks!
Just found this post from another thread. Euclid and the airport are in two completely different parts of the city. Euclid is far eastside by the end of the county and the airport is on the westside. But as stated above Cleveland Heights is a good place to live and it will put you kind of in between both the areas you need to access (airport and Euclid).

You can get the train to Cleveland International Airport from Shaker Heights. The Shaker Square used to be artsy, but has been in decline the last couple of years. I think the best area for you is around Cedar Hill in Cleveland Heights. Seriously artsy with Murray Hill area art galleries, restaurants of Little Italy, college students hanging out in the Starbucks and eateries, bars on Cedar Hill. Definitely check out the Murray Hill/Little Italy/Cedar Hill neighborhood and find somewhere to live nearby. Good luck!
