True. But now we can watch the medical industry take off here. I can't smell the success, (good thing lol), but I sure can see it when I look out of my office to the east and look at all the cranes around University Circle.

It couldn't have been titled more perfect for this thread. I found a photo thread in UrbanOhio that was titled, Pictures from a Dying City. But in the title they were being sarcastic, and a lot of the quotes above the pictures they are doing the same thing. Great example is of the Flats District, where they have built new condos, and there are really new refurbished decks on Warehouses that are also being converted into condos. And it says what everyone wants to think Cleveland is, but the pictures show the opposite, a bustling central business district. Please check it out:

Well, he's just lucky he made it out alive lol Seriously though, Cleveland is shrinking and some folks would call that "dying." Although, it would appear that the soil here can still support life and will likely continue to, far into the future.

Yeah, we're really lucky to have that. I guess some of the old stuff is still paying off. Could you imagine Cleveland without it? Fortunately, they seem firmly planted here

Actually, you are still incorrect. Most leases specify that those type things are to be fixed by the landlord.

I looked at that, loved the sarcasm and the pictures.
But that was pretty much all downtown on a nice day. To see what a dying city looks like you have to venture out in some of the neighborhoods and take pictures of the serious decay and problems that are happening there. Other than downtown and a few other areas, the city of Cleveland is in very bad shape, and there is no way for me to sugarcoat that. Somebody should go out in those neighborhoods, take pictures and post them, and show what it really looks like so we can get them some exposure and then seriously figure out how to try and fix all of Cleveland. Downtown Detroit is nice, does that mean all of the city is a nice and safe place? I didnt think so.

saba - when you damage something, eg the toilet plugs up, you are responsible for it.. not the landlord.. the lease may state routine maintenance which that does not fall under..
the landlord is responsible if say the hot water heater or furnace stops working
