Ok I went back to cleveland last weekend. 2nd time in my life; 1990 and now 2012. Both times I was downtown on a normal weekday afternoon and both times I saw a bunch of bikers. I mean the rough guys on huge bikles who look like they are half way to being hells angels. And not one or two of them but a bunch of them. I dont think I have ever seen this in any other city (and Ive been to most). And I am 2 for 2 in Cleveland. So 1990 was not a fluke. So what is it about Cleveland and the bikers? Why are there so many in downtown? Im quite curious.

Not really sure what there is to explain.
Twice... in 12 years... you see a group of men on bikes. And this is a trend. Really? And it happens no where else??

Last time this two wheeled rider checked, Ohio was ranked 4th in the nation for the number of Motorcycle Endorsements. PA was 5th.
Could be, I suppose, the midwest enjoys 2 wheeling???

Bikers will not bother you if you leave them alone. Most of those guys are not into beefing with non-bikers, unless you give them a good reason.

its absolutely a trend, how is it not a trend? I didnt see them once each time, I saw several of them , several times in the two times I was there. Dont see that on Madison Avenue, or Figueroa Street or Michigan Ave or Peachtree Street or Collins Ave, nope only Cleveland. darn right thats a valid observation.

Well your original post didn't say that.

I assume you don't mean Madison Avenue in Lakewood?

There are motorcycles clubs here. As there are in every major city. And many times they organize and ride together. It's fun. It's not unique to CLE.
Many times these are charity events.
Like this one in Illinois:
Cerebral Palsy Motorcycle Ride Benefiting Emma Bear Dislers - 4th Annual June 9, 2012 | Barrington, Illinois Bike Rally

Or many other of the 100 or so in Illinois this summer.
Motorcycle Events Illinois | 2012 IL Harley-Davidson Bike Rallies

I think it's just an odd observation and I am sure it happens MUCH more frequently in a large city like LA (California is #2 in Moto Registrations).

Texas, Cali, FLA, OH and PA were the top 5 last time I checked.

Actually it looks like the OH and PA switched spots and I was wrong about the order of the top 3.

CALI
FLORIDA
TEXAS
PA
OH

I've noticed more bikers here than other places I've lived. Keep in mind that we don't have 12 months of biker weather... So in the nice spring months, everyone will be out.

I go Downtown all the time. I've never seen a group of more than 3-4 bikers down there. Not even once.

Even still, who cares?

Go visit Geneva-On-The-Lake on a nice summer day. Bikers, shots, tattoos, Harleys, rock n' roll, bikers, tats, shots. Did I mention bikers?
