I am really not sure where lake county is. I live in Wood Co. in Perrysburg, right to the south of Toledo. I guess I should know where Lake Co is since I have lived in Ohio most of my life but I am not sure. I can tell you that it is real nice where we live in Perrysburg. It is not as pretty as Virginia is for sure. But it is a good place to raise a family for sure. We are moving to NC soon. We long to be closer to the beach and mountains. But life is good in Ohio too.

Lake County, as its name suggests, is along Lake Erie in North East Ohio. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Area. Area wise, it is a very small county. Due to its location, it is very suburban. It's not a wealthy area, but not a poor one either. And that's just about all I know about Lake County. While it is a decent area, I think there is more "charm and atmosphere" in areas outside Lake County, such as Chagrin Falls, Chardon, Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights. Just my opinion. Hopefully you can get more input from others...
Good luck!

Also, you may want to post this thread in the "Cleveland" subfolder since Lake County is part of the Cleveland Metro Area. You'd get more responses there.

I live near lake county. It's the smallest county in Ohio. Madison village, Madison Township, Mentor, Willoughby, Painesville, Perry--these are the townships/cities that make up the county. It's right on the lake and in the snow belt of NE Ohio. There is a larger shopping area in Mentor and some nice stores in Painesville on the Mentor border. It's an area that is not much for growth--in terms of job opportunities. Then again, that's the story for much of NE Ohio in general.
