Default Moving to Cleveland where should I consider?

My family and I are considering moving to Ohio. We have friends and family in the Avon and Rocky River areas. We are moving from south Florida where homes are just ridiculously priced, along with taxes and insurance. Looking to buy a home in the low to mid $200's possibly new construction. Have a 2 yr. old and another on the way. Good schools are important. Need advice on relocating my business. I am a chiropractor and would like to open an office in a growing mid-high income area. Any ideas both home and business? Thanks.

I live in Lakewood right next to Rocky River and Avon on the westside of Cleveland. I think your budget for a home should get you quite a good deal in this area. It would probably cost you twice as much down in South Florida.

I don't know too much about the schools, except that they're better on the west side, with some really good private ones.

Nearest Your friends and generally a bit more upscale.
Avon
Avon Lake
Bay Village
Westlake
Rocky River
North Olmsted is a more middle scale but is commercial central along Lorain and Brookpark Aves.
Olmsted Falls is a bit further but has great schools.
BTW you can go to city-data.com and type in a city and get all this info more specifically once you narrow your list.
Avon and Avon lake are probably the more growth areas.

I'd scratch North Olmsted out, you could get a house in a better school district.

Default Have you considered the Eastside?

I have a home in Solon that I am hoping to sell for somewhere around $210,000. Solon is an excellent community for a family. Most people move here for the schools which are consistantly rated as one of the best in the state. My home is located in the heart of the city within walking distance to all schools. If you are still looking and have any interest please let me know.

I live in Florida now, so I know your plight. I wish we could go back to Cleveland (gorgeous suburbs, fantastic sports, awesome people), but my husband is a captain..so no dice. Anyway, I was going to suggest looking at the East side too! Lots of moolah, great suburbs, some new construction but mainly very picturesque homes.
Many of the classy, yuppy, artsy, upper economic areas might be a good place to at least look. Shaker Heights is great...high taxes, but homes cost a lot less than SFL. Schools are rated some of best in country, private schools too. Case Western etc. over there.
I have to run, but don't count the Eastside out!
