For a veterinarian, I highly recommend the Lakewood Animal Hospital and Cleveland Cat clinic in Lakewood, OH. http://www.lovespets.org/ . We have taken our pets there for years, they also are top rated for exotics (we have cats and reptiles).

Check out Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University, both excellent schools. Cleveland has a diverse international community.

What most of you people said about Cleveland is not true. Cleveland is the poorest major city and has the 7th highest crime rate in the country of every city 75,000 people and higher. Cleveland is nowhere near anything like Minneapolis. On the Eastside of the City and East cleveland, OH there are huge areas of boarded up and falling down or barred up houses and businesses. And some areas on the Westside. If you dont beleive me go down St. Clair, Kinsman, or Buckeye along with many other Avenues. And turn down some of the side Streets on east 79th and you'll see what i mean. Those areas are very like inner city Detroit.

However the whole city isnt like that and many of the suburbs are great places to live. Some of the far westside areas of the city are actually pretty nice. Some of the very decayed areas in the city are seeing new nicer houses built so thats a good thing.

Northeast of Cleveland they do get a lot of snow but nowhere near what some areas of PA and western and Central NY get. Summers in the Cleveland area are nice most of the time it does get really hot sometimes in the mid 90s with high humidity btu there is a lake with a lot of beaches so that makes up for that.

Default Help In Cleveland

Hello,

Since this is about Cleveland, would any of you happen to know where all the Electrical Engineer positions are around Cleveland? Or anything related?

I have been laid off for years and I can not find an EE job in the Cleveland area. Would any of you happen to know of a place that could posibly grant me an interview? Even though I have about 4 1/2 years as an EE, due to the nature of the work I still have to apply for entry-level type work.

I was born and raised in Cleveland and I really want to stay. But if the jobs and economy just don't support my type of work, I have to move on.

I'm at a total lost. I don't know what to do or where to go.

I'll try again, although every time I applied with First Energy it always proved to be unfruitful. I have applied online at their web page for various positions.

I have become so sick and tired of calling companies only to get a cold shoulder or voice mail (most never return my calls) that I don't bother calling First Energy or most other companies.

Perhaps you know of someone at First Energy who truly cares and would give me a chance and talk to me despite me being out of a job for 5 1/2 years. If they are willing to do that I am willing to go in and talk. Let me know, thank you for any help.

By the way if anyone else knows of any other places please let me know. I think I have tried at all the major electrical/electronic places in Cleveland, ie.:

Keithley, Hexagram, Actron, Marconi, Pile, EMX, NASA, etc. There are many more. The list goes on; hundreds, in and out of Cleveland and Ohio.

Sure, please PM me you're certifications and experience and I will pass them on. My mom is one of the higher ups there, but I can't promise anything.

Doesn't have to be a formal resumé, just relevant experience.

Hi Mab, no certifications and entry level.

Are all companies too cheap now to invest in a hard and honest worker? I will work for whatever pay they offer.

Anyone can email me, my yahoo email address is the same as my username here, thanks.

I would love more information about Painesville...I am moving to Cleveland in January as well. My job will be in Painesville....I have a family and am interested in good schools where the kids are friendly...a neighborhood where my boys will feel good riding their bikes, and being close enough to work that I don't feel like I am spending most of my time on the road in traffic...Could you tell me more...How will I know the difference between Painesville City, and Painesville Township? I saw a nice place for rent in Mentor-on-the-lake, is this the same as Mentor?
