As the thread title states, I am looking for an ideal site among the Cuyahoga Valley area Metro Parks to take my family for a blanket style picnic. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Euclid Creek has a lot of picnic grounds, and always a lot of picnicers. Squires Castle in South Chagrin is interesting, and a nice place for a picnic as well.

Do kids still drink 40oz beers in paper bags at the basketball court at Euclid creek or did they clean that place up? I remember 15 years ago seeing this first hand. I had Gatorade and got made fun of.

Honestly, I don't know. I haven't really stopped there, just driven through it, and there are like 3 or 4 picnic pavilions, and always a lot of picnicers, so that's why I suggested it. I was thinking though, a nicer place might be one of the newly acquired lake shore metroparks, such as Euclid Creek, or Edgewater.

Squires is North Chagrin, just so the OP doesn't get confused. But yeah, it's nice to visit and explore.

Euclid Creek is okay, but probably one of the smaller parks in the chain.

I wonder if the OP would be interested in checking out Cuyahoga Valley National Park? Lots of possibilities there, as well.
