Was wondering if somebody could tell me what the boundaries are for the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood and also what are the more sketchy areas to avoid there?

thanks

I think stuff west of the Italian church on Detroit near McDonalds (W 71ish) is sketchy.....as is stuff E of W 54th. South of detroit to Franklin has some beautiful homes (even some rehabbed Victorians on Franklin and Clinton) but also some truly awful rental multi-units where you can expect evening hijinks such as broken-in cars and the occasional knife fight. Not sure of official city neighborhood boundaries but Im guessing something close to what I said, running all the way N to the Lake.
Truly a neat neighborhood. It's all getting nicer, but I'd stay between w 58 and W 69, and North of Detroit if looking to live there. And buy a nice bicycle for buzzing around. A great bike neighborhood for sure, probably my favorite one in the whole city.
