Since the Cleveland cavaliers are officially a super team and the browns finally have some direction and can finally compete with good teams. Do you think the sports rebound in Cleveland will boost the economy to the point where its noticeable.

Not sure if the Browns move towards respectability will make much of a difference as they already sell out all of their games (which is pretty amazing considering their performance since the return) but I do think that the return of LeBron and addition of Kevin Love to the Cavs will have a large impact on the downtown Cleveland economy.

Big time energy will be seen in downtown on game nights...they are now once again events. A deep playoff run will only add to it.

The sports teams will definitely boost Cleveland's economy, especially the Cavs. We're guaranteed for at least 4 years with the Cavs. The Browns also help and so do the Indians. In general, all activities that are funded by the city of Clveland will benefit the city's economy.

It's pretty important to recognize that the city has been doing well regardless of the former LeBron era hype. You would often hear how downtown business would suffer due to him leaving and I'm sure some did feel a hangover effect. However, during the interim, the amount of bars and restaurants in downtown has increased markedly. While the sports teams definitely have a positive effect on the direct area surrounding the venues economically, it is important to remember that the resurgence is not rooted in that aspect.
