Haha, that hits close to home. Lakeview has some project problems, but it's not so bad for a project. My car broke down on the Main Avenue Bridge and I had to wait there for a tow. I had no problems and even got a couple "Hey man, everything all right?" looks. I would not take photos on the streets in the actual Lakeview project; ghetto dwellers are funny about that. But it sounds like you're going to be across the old river on the actual Whiskey Island, so I wouldn't worry much about crime spillover at all. And West 65th and West 3rd are quite safe for the city of Cleveland.

Do I need to be fearful of these? Also there's an old foundry along the Shoreway and W. 65th. Will I be okay around there? And West 3rd St along the river? I just want to take a few pictures, that's all.
I am a young white person married to another young white person, and we live on West 65th. It's safe. Area south of Lorain looks a little sketchy but it's just industrial wasteland, nothing to be scared of. Area north of Lorain is fine and gets better the further north you go.

For those who say the Eastside is worse than the Westside...take a trip to the West 28th Projects.

The Eastside is worse than the Westside, but that doesnt mean that there arent really bad areas on the westside, because there are. Those projects as you mentioned, parts of the near westside especially around storer ave. and around W130th Bellaire/Puritas isnt nice either. Areas off of Lorain ave. and Madison ave. Theres other spots on the westside also. But a huge part of the Eastside is almost entirely very bad.

A city doesnt become 7th most dangerous by having an entire side of the city thats nice. There are rough areas on the Westside, but the Eastside is much worse.

i am a citizen in Cleveland heights and just for your safety, STAY AWAY FROM EUCLID HEIGHTS. It was cool 2 years ago and its bad now. the worst about is that it just gets even worse every year! AND for your information the bad places are: Euclid Heights, Lee Road, Hyde Park Ave, and worst of all, Desota Ave. those are just the worst cities around cleveland heights btw... oh yeah and the east side is also bad. i mean GHETTO. HOOD. SHOOTING. VIOLENCE. so yeah you might just wanna visit the west side. Youll be much safer

^You're out of your mind. Parma and Old Brooklyn are no different now than they were 10 years ago (both are still solid, working class areas). Garfield, Maple, and Bedford have been relatively sketchy for 10-20 years. Shaker Heights is still one of the wealthiest places in the state with a high median family income and a 90% high school graduation-to-college rate. There is no "invasion" of any sort. Stop making things up.

Also, while growing, neither Avon's nor Medina's growth could be defined as "explosive." Both cities have about 22-25,000 people in them. Medina County has roughly 13% of Cuyahoga County's population and grew by 20,000 people in 10 years. Growth? Yes. Explosive? Not even close. Most of the people who moved there are the 2nd wave of quasi-white-flighters who moved there to save 1% in sales tax -- even though they now have to drive 20 miles farther to get to work and do 90% of their shopping in Cuyahoga County anyway.

Lee Road in Cleveland Hts? I was just there a year or so ago and it didn't look bad at all. I walked all the way from the Library (Corydon Road) to Cedar-Lee shops and it seemed fine. Are you talking about the area near Heights High or near Shaker Lakes?
