Lets see here... Case is a relatively small uppity private school, while OSU is the biggest in the nation with around 50-52,000 students. That said, there will then be more parties, tons of off campus housing, etc. However, I feel that OSU is really safe. You've just got to have some common sense about you, ie girls should not walk down High Street alone, especially towards the southern end and the "ghetto".

I've heard alot of stories about muggings at gun point at Case.

in, since I am pretty concerned with grades in hs. and right now I am from Houston, texas
So it sounds like you are in highschool currently and are looking to attend Case as an undergrad? If that is correct, keep in mind that Case has a two-year on campus residency requirement. I'm not sure what they define as 'campus' but your living choices will probably be limited to the residence halls unless you can get around the requirement.

Opps. I should have actually read your first post then I would have figured out that you are just trying to get an idea of the near campus area and aren't looking for a place to live near campus. Don't worry, I didn't go to Case so my lack of reading comprehension is not indicative of the education you would receive at CWRU :^p

Obviously OSU will have the highest number because it has more people in it than any other college campus in the nation (If not that than at least top 3).

Believe me xtra, Case campus itself is extremely safe. In a way, it's almost a bubble.

And yes it is a GREAT place--Cultural gems/Museums, Little Italy, Cleveland Orchestra, Innovative research, smart students, Brilliant professors....

But with the questions you keep asking, then maybe this place isn't for you. Stuff happens everywhere, and you will be in a city.

well costello_musician, I am from a quiet suburb in Houston texas. I have heard of the high umemployment rate at this city. and the "ghettos" so close to it, so... I don't know. That is why I ask- to get more opinions about the situation. (BTW CWRU is offering 22K for me to go there.) So money lures me too!
