Another murder on the Eastside of Cleveland on East 81st. They said it was the 29th homicide of the year, and by this time last year we already had 42 so we are doing better so far, however it still hasnt gotten hot yet and it will very soon.

Another homicide in Cleveland. A man who was robbed, and then shot at a bus stop on the Eastside in January died sunday from his injuries. That brings the homicide count to 32 at least.

Well, it'd be impossible to tell per capita until the end of the year. If we are only 12 or so down from last year - are per capita murder rate is still among some of the highest in the nation.

Like the poster stated above, an accurate estimate would be best at the end of the year, but if you give me Cleveland's accurate up-to-date population, I'll post the trending figure.

First of all let me say that we should start seeing a lot more murders now since its about to get hot out. Its supposed to be in the high 70s-80s by Friday. Im going to estimate just by the current numbers that Cleveland will end up with around 115 homicides, about 27 per 100k. Thats down from 31 per 100k last year with 135 homicides. I dont know about Cincinnatis whole situation but Im going to estimate that it will end up with about 60 murders this year.

The census bureau claims Cleveland has 444,000 population as of 2006.
To get murders per 100,000: number of murders divided by population, multiplied by 100,000 = 7.2
