Default Moving to Lorain County... Suggestions?

I am from southern OH and I recently accepted a job offer in Elyria. I am twenty-something professional black female and I am looking for suggestions for areas I should look at. Ideally I would like to keep my work commute under 30 minutes and area that is diverse but at the very least not hostile to minorites. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are a lot of nice areas to look at within 30 mins of Elyria. North Ridgeville, Avon, Avon Lake, Sheffield Lake, Amherst, Vermillion, Rocky River, and Westlake are all pretty nice suburb like areas. The only problem with that is that all of those towns are basically all white. The only areas that arent all white are some neighborhoods in Elyria, Lorain, and Oberlin. I have heard that Amherst has had racial tensions in the past and most of those towns have had at least a few incidents, but its a lot better than areas in Southern Ohio.

I live in North Ridgeville right now and its nice but there is pretty much no minorities here at all, a big difference from where I grew up in South Elyria. North Olmsted seems more diverse than the other suburb areas. You could also look into a neighborhood in Elyria. The Westside of Elyria is diverse and the Southside has a mostly black and mixed population, but the Northside and Eastside are almost all white. Oberlin is diverse but is 15 mins away and is pretty far away from most activities. Lorain is very diverse but its really urban and has some pretty rough areas, Elyria is a little bit safer. Ill try to look into it some more.
