I've heard there's quite a lot of criminal activity in this part of Willoughby and especially at Osborne Park. How much of this is true do you think? If you actually live in that area, that's a bonus!

Thanks Everyone!

Ha! Apparently I posted a question very similar to this 3 years ago. Any updated information is appreciated. Maybe the area has gotten better/worse.

Do you have anything to back up this apparent, at best, hearsay?

I have some familiarity with this area, and this concern seems suspect.

I saw this article linked in your earlier thread.

I have a friend who operates a business in that area, and another friend who lives off Lake Shore in that area as well (near the old Bondy's beverage store). They have never commented on any issues in that area. It's certainly not an upscale area, with lots of old cottages on the streets north of Lake Shore Blvd, and I'm sure the whole area has seen better days, but I don't think it's supposed to be a hot bed of criminal activity.

Willoughby’s Lakefront Business District getting boost
I just saw this today, too. According to the comments on the article, it's got some drug problems...at best it's just run down.

Not sure how the area is now but back the day Osborne Park was a good place for basketball pick up games. We'd call Peppino's Pizza a across the street to deliver us some pies and eat in between games. These days if you are in that neck of the woods, grab a beer over at The Witz End, then head across the street to Peppino's and get yourself some real pizza. The place next to the pizza place was called Heartlands but it closed and I think before that used to be a grocery store called Penny Pinchers which was all about quality over quantity.
