Default city or township

hi i live in warren ohio my title and deed and also the bureau of motor vehicles at least some of them said we lived in the township, we were there for 5 years we were told township when we bought the house. Now the city says we owe city taxes for all those years. Being that the title the deed the mineral rights all say township can they still make us pay? thanks

Check out Ohio Department of Taxation enter your address and see what it says.

I am not sure how accurate deeds can be. Most parcels of land started out in unincorprated areas, many were later annexed to the surrouding city.

I live in Warren, what is your zip code??? That may help. Also, did you work in the city??? If you did that could be why you owe them taxes.

It is possible that the paperwork has a mistake on it. It is also possible that the city is wrong too. The end of Northwest Blvd near Lover's lane is in the township. Call the township board of Education, and ask them if your high school is LaBrae or the city's. If it LaBrae, you're in luck.
