Agents get most of their clients by referrals, so they have an interest in getting you into a home you will be happy with in the long term so that you send them more business, even if that home is a cheaper home. Future referrals are worth more than a slightly higher one-time commission.

The problem is with the personality of the realtor. Anybody can get a real estate license, so realtors are just people who bring their prejudices with them. Best bet is to shop well for a good realtor to help you shop well for a good house. The neighborhoods in Cleveland Heights are very charming places to live with great neighbors and I’m glad your friend found a nice home there. The high school has been completely renovated and I think that is a big plus for the city.
