Coming from Portland where breweries and families intertwine culturally (and having two young kids of my own), I am shocked I can’t find anything in Cleveland that compares. The top brewery we would visit, Hopworks Urban Brewery, had an entire section for kids. My all time favorite breweries are in these categories ...Crux in Bend, Oregon and Pfriem in Hood River, OR. Both have amazing greenspace for kids/families.

Heck, Collision Bend didn’t even have a fold down changing table in the bathroom and we haven’t been back since. (Still have one kiddo in diapers). Similar experience with Southern Tier Downtown, and haven’t been back since.

And to your point, we have hit up the Hofbruhaus Cleveland multiple times after visiting the Cleveland Children’s Museum, because it’s convientent and fun for the whole family (and the swing set in nicer weather)

The only other place we found (although not a brewery) was the patio area of Merwin’s Wharf of the metroparks along the Cuyahoga River in the Flats.

Are we missing any other breweries in Cleveland when kiddos can stretch their legs a bit?
Hi usaf. You might try Bottlehouse in Cleveland Heights, my son+his wife+2yr old go there every now and then and say there is a regular gathering of parents with young kids, playing games, etc. They don't have a play area for kids but enough room they can run around. If you're in the Heights, you may want to check out Turtle park. For people from 1 to 6 years its a nice little urban park with opportunities for strolling and coffee up near Coventry. Cheers.

Figure out where to park ahead of time. Perhaps the festival has designated parking areas. My memory is that there is a paucity of parking in Tremont

E.g., consider parking at the free West 150th/Puritas park 'n ride and buying day passes (a bargain for seniors with Medicare cards) and taking the Red Line and a Tremont bus to the festival. Check Google Transit.

I also don't think I would want to be walking around Tremont after dark unless very familiar with the area.

Have you ever been to Sokolowski's? If not, check it out and consider including it in your visit.

It's an easy visit right off of I-271. There's a very good overlook with a Cleveland Sign just north of the Innerbelt Bridge on Abbey Ave., and a short walk from Sokolowski's.

I really like Fat Heads new place, nice beer hall, reminds me of some of the big micros out in CA. They have a decent self-guided tour you can take also, very kid friendly.

Note that Forest City Brewing has closed, but my guess is not for too long. With all that development at Market Square, they're in a very ideal location. We will need COVID to get under control until things get back to normal or near normal.

As far as I know, Forest City is just suspended from normal business. They still host concerts and things.

Good deal, it is a nice space with lots of potential. BTW, I have been going to Goldhorn lately and really enjoying it. They have a lot of space and the food is pretty good (barbeque is their specialty). Outdoor seating on both sides and plenty of parking across the street and perhaps behind the brewery.

I do love the Goldhorn. Always enjoy chatting with their staff, their brews, and the menu is small but solid. Really love the space. Would be a great place to have a company event or something. I hope they survive this covid stuff. One time I was there they were saying the after work crowd and pre-Indians crowd were there major sources of income. Work might be returning but the lack of events is still quite noticeable.
