Dont Do Gates Mills Place!!!!!
I moved out of Gates Mills Place in January of this year and thank GOD for that. I am not saying it was absolutely horrible, but the treatment there has left me thinking way less of apartment complexes, especially the ones who charge more than all their competitors. I thought it was going to be a great year in a nice apartment building, but to my dismay I was way wrong. Every time there was a maintenance issue it took a week to get someone to come and fix it. My roommates tub faucet leaked from day one. They came and "fixed it", but it continued to leak. The framing on his door fell off and hit him in the head. They came and put it back up and it fell off again. My bathroom had the worst smell when we first moved in and I couldn't figure out why. Then I took off my shower stall door to only see on the bottom the drain holes were plugged and there was mold growing in the frame of the door. I drilled out the holes myself and drained the holes, then proceeded to clean the mold from the frame of my shower stall. I could keep going on about how bad they were, but you get the point. If I had to move back to Mayfield Heights I would definitely stay away from Mayfield Road for the time being especially if you are prone to road rage. People are inconsiderated, over-rushed and constantly cut you off while you are trying to maneuver the construction laden road. There are apartments on 91 & Mayfield Road up just past Wal-Mart I would consider looking into if you HAVE to live in Mayfield Heights. I think the city of Mayfield Heights is a great place to live and the people were very nice and accepting to those who they did not know. But I think the ownness of keeping up apartments that used to be Section 8 housing falls on the city, especially when they are collecting property taxes from those buildings who are charging $900 month per 2 bedroom room.
