Ah, didn't know it was referencing another post, since it didn't contain a quote box.
The proposal seems reasonable, I didn't know Tower City was struggling yet again.

Do they have any renderings of what the new lakefront might look like? Cleveland has some awesome new developments in the future, and the thing is, they are not small projects either, they are multi billion dollar ones.

Problem is..it won't happen in my lifetime as projects seemed to take for ever to happen and often doesn't..

All of this seems good on paper - most will never happen. Cleveland has a group of individuals who are doing nothing but regressing the economy and NEO. The mindset of some of the 'middle-aged whites' in the area isn't very progressive compared to much of the US and is holding Cleveland back.

What is it you don't like about the location? I think it is easily the best location for multiple reasons.
Also, I don't feel anyone was rushed into making a decision. In fact, I think it took far too long 'to make this decision.

Agreed. From a planning perspective this is the best location.
1. It's underground so it will not block off the lakefront nor will it create a pedestrian dead zone with a big warehouse type structure.
2. It revitalizes an already existing structure that was setting there doing nothing. This will fix a big dead spot in that area of downtown.
3. It is in the dead center of the city based on the original Burnham plan for Cleveland.
4. It will create pedestrian life going from the convention center to the entertainment districts.
5. It is near both RTA and Amtrak transit links with the potential to create a larger transit hub if Ohio ever gets commuter rail.
