The warehouse district plan has finally been given to the city for approval. Check out the renderings:

Cleveland Landmarks Commission

As well as retail:

I can see this retail working for a few reasons:

1) Downtown population base--already getting close to 10,000 with another 2000 units being built in the next 4 years, not even counting this project (most important is that this project is intergrated into mixed use...instead of stand alone attractions like tower city and galleria were--the major key difference in this city planning)
2) Urban renewal across the board in the last 2-3 years and future - ECP, Renovations, convention center, people moving back to surrounding neighborhoods with money (ohio city, tremont, etc)
3) Good compromise/closer for quality shopping for people living Cleveland, Parma, Brooklyn, Seven Hills, Brecksville, instead of going out to Crocker Park or Beachwood.

Is this the same proposal that was envisioned a couple of years ago, if not how has it changed?

How about the impact on Galleria at Erieview?

BTW, thanks for the updates.

Fairly similar yes, but he never submitted it for city approval, since it had been mostly an idea for the past two years. Now, enough has lined up where he's able to get approval to build. Believe me, THIS IS HUGE. Not only that, but this is only phase once--hopefully this will serve as the needed catalyst.

And to quote myself about the Galleria from a previous response:

If anything, it would be competative/supplemental to Tower City.

Any chance of integrating this plan with the east bank project for The Flats? Aren't they practically co-located?
