garfield heights
My son is looking at relocating to Cleveland and found a house in Garfield Heights. I was just wondering if anyone can give me a little information
about is this neighborhood safe to live in especially the area around Cranwood Park.

That's probably the highest crime part of Garfield Heights, as it abuts right against higher crime areas of Cleveland.

I don't know the area but there are lots of homes for sale around there for the price of a used car (<$20,000). That can't be a good sign of what the neighborhood is like or will be like in the future.

I lived in Garfield for about 8 years and thought it was good, there are good neighborhoods and some questionable ones since it is classified as a inner-ring suburb, very affordable

Cranwood park area is now and has always been the ghetto. It's the only area that Garfield PD have 2 man cars. Growing up in Garfield Hts we always called the area "the hill" and we didn't visit.

I grew up in garfield hts and graduated High School there, my parents are still there, crime is on the increase, robberies and the taxes are through the roof. Cranwood park has always been the bad part of Garfield Hts, off of Broadway. A lot of the homes for sale in garfield are around 60k-100k, he should be able to find a better deal/house and neighborhood off of Turney Road by Mckracken or off of Garfield Blvd.

Still, although a sketchy area.. Garfield Heights rarely has murders and I don't know the last time they had one. Stay away from Cranwood Park and try to find something more southern in the city. Affordable housing and there are some good neighborhoods.
