Smile Searching For Private Hunting Land.

Hello! My name is Carl Veith, I am 23 years old and currently attending Kent State University. Ever since my brother and I have started at kent state we have not been able to hunt like we use to. We were hoping to find some land in NE ohio that we may be able to hunt. I know there are several public hunting areas however, I would feel alot safer if i knew who and where people were hunting when im hunting. We like to both gun and bow hunt. If only bow hunting is permitted that is ok. However, if it is possible, like i said in the past we hunted a lot primarily with family members. Together we total about 10 people and normally get together for shotgun season. We are high on our morals and go by the book. We are straight and are willing to help with any needs on the land (I.E. mowing, path clearing, tree cutting anything to help with the land, year round) in exchange for hunting the land. Like i said i currently live here in NE ohio im from NW ohio looking for a place to enjoy the hunting season.

I can't help you find any private property to hunt but have you looked into the controlled hunts at the Ravenna Arsenal right down the street from Kent? You have to enter a lottery for a chance to hunt there and the place is 20,000+ acres and only a limited number of people are allowed to hunt. It's similar to the controlled hunt at NASA-Plumbrook if you are familiar with that.

Check out Fritz Neubauer's Hunt Club near Mantua. About 40 minutes from Kent. I think he's still there, though the kids run it now. Good private duck/pheasant/fishing preserve, but NOT cheap.
