Default TX to OH

We are looking for good family areas/communities within close commuting distance to Brooklyn. Schools (10th and 5th grades) are a priority. Are there many 4 bedroom, 3-car garage homes on larger lots? Is it better to rent/lease for a year to really check out the different areas? From reading various posts, it appears there are many great areas to choose from. How are the winters?
Thx,
APB52

Unlike in Texas, if there is half a foot or a foot of snow on the ground, you will still have to show up for work/school - it takes a real disaster to shut the city down (not to say that it doesn't happen occasionally). The biggest difference is probably that it is dark (ie. gray) all the time. You can go weeks or months at a time without ever seeing the sun.

Your best bet would be the westside areas such as Lakewood & Rocky River for those have direct access to Brooklyn from I-90.
Much will depend on your budget & what you want to do for a commute. Most schools on the farther westside are decent.
Can't comment on the eastside b/c I've never lived there.

You've obvioulsy never lived in TX for there are areas that get substantial snow during the winter along with freezing ice.

Months at a time? Show a statistic to back up that half a$$ comment.

I would also recommend Brecksville/Broadview Heights, North Royalton, and Strongsville. All of them sound like they'll be your best bet in what you're looking for in a house and good schools near Brooklyn.

Yeah seriously. While it's true that Ohio gets less total days of sun that most Sun Belt states, it's not like the sun just disappears for weeks on end. When it's at its worst in the middle of winter, you'll still see the sun no less than once or twice a week, if not more.

Cleveland gets less sun than Seattle but like you said, it's days a time. It sucks. No one enjoys it. But, spring definitely makes up for it.

People don't move to Cleveland for its stellar weather

Back in April there were 2 perfect weeks of high 70s & sun. Then it got down into the low 40s for a some time. Then skyrocketed to 92.

Temps should be back to norm by tommorow

Seems this sort of thing happens every season now in many regions of the country. Climate changes occur no matter what, so that could be a cause along with global warming issues.
