Default Acme vs. Giant Eagle

I am moving to the area and was wondering about the differences between Acme and Giant Eagle.

Giant Eagle = fuel perks. They give you an "advantage" card that wracks up your points in spending on groceries and lets you get a certain amount off of gas at their GetGo gas stations.

Some say Giant Eagle is more expensive sometimes. Groceries altogether have gotten more expensive so I don't really think it's exclusive to G.E. but I don't "shop around" to really know the difference.

I'm not sure that Acme has many Cleveland locations but I could be wrong. I thought they were more prevalent in the Akron/Canton areas.

Akron and Cleveland also have Marc's.

There's other grocery stores depending on where you're moving to exactly.
Some have less locations such as Buehler's, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Heinen's, and I know I'm forgetting some others.

With Tops gone, Giant Eagle has a corner on the grocery market in Cleveland. Dave's is still around, but they buy from the Giant Eagle warehouse, and thus have virtually no pricing power.

Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Zagara's, and Heinans all exist, but on limited scale - not citywide.

The west side market is probably the ideal place to buy fruits/vegetables/meat, if you can make it over there during operating hours.

Shopping at Marcs can be a painful experience, the price you save on your tab is made up for by the price of long lines, dirty stores, and overall frustration.

Giant Eagle is more expensive. Look at perfectly comparably goods like a 12-pack of Pepsi or box of Pop Tarts and you'll see that they charge more than most places (sans 711 and other mini-marts).

Giant Eagle is more expensive in my experience.

Acme tends to have smaller stores.

I really like Heinen's, but there aren't that many locations around town.
