Unhappy New Home Builders

Just an FYI for everyone looking to build a new home. You may want to check out this website that was just featured on channel 19 WOIO. www.dontdodrees.com (broken link) regarding Drees Homes. Take all of the photos and issues into consideration before building a new home with them.

There are few things similar in frustration to dealing with a dishonest home builder. Thanks robsmail01.

Which are considered to be reliable home builders and which are the ones to be avoided in the greater Cleveland area?

Whatever you do Avoid Monte Carlo homes. In the development my parents built in he had homes sitting for 2 years under construction. What he does is take your money/Down payment and use it towards someone else's house, then gets a new customers down payment to pay for yours. He tends to run out of money until he finds a new customer and so the contractors stop working, thus you house sits with no work being done.

There are tons of good builders to consider, but not all build or are willing to build where you might want to live. Find the area you want to build then do the research on the builders.
