Default Recreation in the city proper??

I know I've posted a lot lately, getting ready to move in just eleven days and wanting to get a head start! So my question is actually three fold;

1. Where do kids in the near west side play sports and/or activities. My daughter (9yo) loves soccer, swimming, art classes and wants to try softball this year.

What soccer clubs exist? Where do people take swim lessons? How are art and other community classes organized? I know there are rec centers but the info on the City of Cleveland's website is quite scarce. Also, I've found a lot of info on stuff out in the burbs (Lakewood, Brooklyn, and places alot further than those!) but can't find much on the near west side.

2. My son loves football, basketball and track. I know most of these are organized through the schools, but are there also things like after school programs or teen centers in the near west side?

3. Finally, out here my hubby and I play on two different recreational softball teams. We play single games with our ultra competitive team Friday nights and also manage a more relaxed team that plays double header games on Sundays. Are there any city league softball teams that are on the west side (without having to travel 10 miles?)

Thanks again for all the input!

Sara
