The best place to park is at the New York Spaghetti house Parking lot
on the corner of Bolivar and E 9th.

Was just there this past Thursday. Went to the Winking Lizard after the game. Got out around midnight. No one around really. Pretty safe too.

The last major crime in that particular area of down town was a shooting a couple weeks ago. Apparently a group of 30 or so people got in a scuffle and 5 people were shot. It was at like 4am in the morning though and resulted from a bar fight in the Flats.

Downtown is generally safe except for the obvious time of late at night (11 pm- 5 AM). Of course things can happen anywhere though. There has been many crimes downtown in the past, but its still the safest neighborhood in Cleveland (last I heard).
