You would also like Chagrin Falls...
I have spent a lot of time in the UK (mostly London) for work, so am very familiar with your side of the pond...
Let's see... On the plus side, you are going to be getting a lot more home for your money! I am in a very nice 1860 sq. ft. home, living on a nature reserve, very quiet, in one of our West Side suburbs, and paid USD 164K (82,000 pounds)...
Another plus is you won't have any speed cameras, and we don't have CCTV everywhere...
The areas of which you speak (and including Chagrin Falls) are very safe, and good for raising children. The Jewish community in Cleveland are concentrated mostly in Cleveland Hts. and Beachwood.
The downside of the East Side of Cleveland is there is more snow than the West Side. "Lake effect snow" it is called, and it can bury you in your house!
We have The Cleveland Orchestra, and Playhouse Square. They are also renovating The Cleveland Museum of Art.
We have world renowned hospitals in Cleveland, where people from all over the world come for treatment.
Cleveland isn't a cosmopolitan city, though... The people are down to earth and friendly, but your English accent will definitely turn heads here...
In general, I would say that Cleveland isn't a particularly sophisticated city, but it's a very nice city, and I am proud to call it home!
