Default Help please ..Cleveland or Columbus

Hi all! I posted this in the general Ohio forum but I am going to post it in Cleveland and Columbus to!! I am a 22 soon to be college graduate from a small town in rural PA I also went to a small rural college in PA. I am an elite runner who hopes to continue chasing my running dreams after I graduate. I am in the process of applying to graduate schools ...my boyfriend works/ and grew up in the greater cleveland area but his work also has a branch office in columbus so I am looking at Cleveland State, Case Western, and Ohio State as the main schools I wish to attend. My boyfriend and I hope to live together while I am attending school. Now I still want to live in a place were I can feel comfortable and has nice places to run but I also am in the mood for a change. I really think I like rural areas but being as I never experienced a big school/city I would like to. I am sort of familar with the Cleveland area if I went to school there we would try to get an apartment in the subburbs. As for Columbus it seems nice but I've never been and the school seems big but awesome my bf brother went there so he's going to give me a tour soon. Ok now that I've rambled about stuff you probably do not care about here is my question? What can you tell me about living in cleveland as a 20 something? things to do, running, living..comparisions to Columbus...anything really that you think might help....Thanks Bunches!!

I would recommend Cleveland more, Im a little biased though but still. There was a thread like this a while ago and me and a couple other people explained all of the reasons in there. I dont feel like writing all of it right now, maybe in a little bit.

Well if you're into a totally corporate environment and having tons of national chains Columbus is your choice, but if you want small local type establishment C-town is your choice. I also am bias and got sick of columbus after about a month and am in Cleveland.

I've lived in the Cleveland/Akron area my entire life and I have to say that if its a toss up between Cleveland & Columbus, I would say C-bus.

My brother went to OSU, as did several friends of mine (I now sort of wish I had as well - Im 28 now) - they all loved it. TONS of things to do down there.

I guess it more so depends on what you are looking for school-wise and what will fit your personality best. OSU is quite a large school but it has a ton of different options. I don't really have an opinion on the Cleveland colleges (I went to the University of Akron which I loved).

Take advantage of the tour from your bf's brother defenitely. That is the best way to gauge whether or not you will get a good vibe and if you feel you will jive with it.

I just cannot bring myself to give Cleveland too many props despite knowing the area for so long. It's just been so disappointing. They are trying to work on it though.
But, like I said - you will know. Visit OSU, take it all in. I toured quite a few campuses when I went to college - but the minute I stepped on UofAs campus, I just knew. You might find that you will 'just know' too
